I am experience with panic attack, axiety disorder, stress disease. When I woke up I had bad nightmare that someone are trying to kidnapped my children, trying to steal my car, etc. I woke up at 1:00 or 2:00 or 3:00 am, my brain starting panic attack, I checked with my children and make sure my children are safe...also I ran to the window and see my car is still there. My nightmare is getting worst everyday. When I woke up at midnight my face is sweat, my heart are beathing race as hell, my thought I am going to die. I have experience with worst nightmare for 7 months. I have no idea what hell is wrong with me. I starting drinking beers that make me relax..reduced my nightmare is over but it not working. So I decided to see my doctor and asked him HELP HELP HELP me because I feel like I am going to die soon. My doctor examined and asked me too many questions what cause me panic attack, axiety disorder, etc. My doctor said its possible I got lots of stress too much. I said wait a minutes I am not streesed. He gave 2 medicinces for zoloft can help me reduce panic attack and other medicince for reduce my aniexty disorder. I took medicince for 3 years. I am FINE. I am thinking positive everything will be alright. I am off the medicinces for 7 months. Nothing happened to me. Please go see your doctor about you experience. You need to take medicince for a while and can help you reduce. Good Luck

i get anxiety attacks once in a while. I thought I was going to die from it at first. I thought my heart was going to explode. Now,I somewhat get used to it now. Ususally I let it go for a few minutes and then I become calm down once again. I do not have health issues like for some of people who experince anxiety attacks. Certain situations can trigger my attacks. I never get it when I am alone. some people get it when alone. Most causes by stress... sometimes due to medication or health issues. I need to cut down coffee because it can easily trigger anxiety attacks. I can relate what you are talking about. No fun freaking out for no reasons. Good for you to see a doctor about it. Hope he can understand your situation. good news you are not alone with strange scary experience. it is not an "end of life" issue.

You are not alone! I have experience that for few years I have made a lot of processing and deal with it. I am very familiar with this! I am really glad you have a courage to share this information via vlogs.. Often people arent comfortable to share or tell other people about having this kind of experience. I am proud of you! Yes caffeine can trigger panic attack/anxiety thats one of factors. Also Stress too. Sometimes I feel that Panic attack/anxiety is your warn signs to tell you to do something about yourself. Hang in there.. Your not alone!

Thank you for sharing your story with us. Many people are ashamed to talk about the panic attacks. It is possible for several reasons like health changes or something, so it is wise to check it out with your doctor. Your doctor works as your partner in figuring things out with your health. It will be good to rule out all that to make sure that there is nothing wrong or it could be something that is warning your body. Like others say, we care about you. T'care.

I really appreciate you bringing to our attention the anxiety attacks. Some people has had a similar experience you have had and the feedback brings more awareness of this problem and I am glad you are encouraged to go see your doctor to find out more about why it happened to you. I admire your courage to go public with this. Vlogs is a wonderful way to express concerns about health situations and to bring in feedback from others. We all love you. People that keep things to themselves, the problem just gets worse.

I remembered I had a severe panic attack many years ago. I thought I was going crazy and it was so scary. I went to see a doctor and explained what was happening. I took the blood test and found my blood sugar was over 400. I did not know I was type 2 diabetic (due to excessive weight) and I was given meds then all of that stopped on spot. The flight and flee reaction is something that your body is telling you something is wrong.
I agree that most commenter’s suggests that you should see a medical professional to rule out some things. Excessive usage of caffine products tends to cause this to most people. Some people have food allergies and that could be the contributor as well.
It is good to write down on paper the date, time, and what did you eat or drink prior to the attacks. It is good to talk to a licensed mental health professional to learn how to deal with this and it will give you confidence on dealing with attacks.
I want to tell you, you are not alone in this and I have talked to many Deaf people who have these experiences. I think creating awareness is a great thing to help Deaf people coping with this.
Most Deaf people shared with me they felt suicidal and feeling like going crazy and hurt someone.
The hardest part is there are not many Deaf licensed mental health professionals and most will have to visit a hearing professionals with interpreters (Most Deaf leaders will not do this due to privacy as many interpreters are not confidential in nature). Interpreters are sometimes a barrier to treatment because they do not keep things confidential. I know RID Code of Ethics requires this but most do not follow the Code of Ethics as many Deaf leaders know of. Interpreters are human and they do spill the beans to brag about their services (example: I interpreted for a Deaf leader who has a mental health problem and he or she is running the state association) and this is not good. Code of Ethics is not as strong as a licensed mental health interpreter and this is one of the reasons why many state associations are pushing for interpreter licensure (legal, mental health, educational qualifications). Today a RID certified interpreter can be used in mental health, legal and educational settings even they are not qualified just because they passed the RID test. Deaf communities are demanding more from interpreters to ensure they are qualified for the job and not just because they can sign fluently.

Hang in there and you will do fine after you get help from the specialist.

One thing you can do: Put a paper bag over your mouth and breathe in and out. That helps steady your heartbeat.

Ahh I had one a few weeks ago at work. I was ready to puke and my body got tensed especially my arms and legs. Finally I had to leave early with my boss' permission. It had been that way for a while until I had to go to ER a few days after I left my work. I learned that my medicine that caused me having panic attacks as a side effect. The doctor and I agree to cut down to 20 mg from 30 mg .... Panic attack Gone! No more tense and anxious. I can understand you were scared .. if that happens again ... best to seek your primary doctor and discuss this. Good luck. Smile.
